The Government delegate to the mayor of Caravaca transmits its support to work together for the next Jubilee Year 2010 (16/06/2008)

Rafael González Tovar, on his first official visit to Caravaca de la Cruz as a delegate of the Government in Murcia, has shown strong support for projects and initiatives of the City Council with regards to holding the next Holy Year 2010.

This has been assured to the media at the press conference after the meeting this morning with the mayor, Domingo Aranda, which have addressed various issues related mostly to infrastructure and promotional activities aimed at the next meeting Jubilee.

After the meeting, the government delegate said that for him today was not a working day either but he felt at home talking with friends present and the future of Caravaca.

Likewise, Gonzalez Tovar said that his desire is to participate in exciting projects of the government team and to that end, close look at the memory of actions that he gave the mayor.

"The Jubilee Year will be a luxury for Caravaca and the Region of Murcia as a whole," he said.

For its part, the mayor has said that the balance of the meeting was very satisfactory and it is assured that "they will walk together with the common goal of development and progress of Caravaca.

The delegate of the Government and the Mayor have discussed the initiative to urge the National Government to declare the Holy Year 2010 "Outstanding Events of Public Interest" in order for companies to collaborate in acts of cultural or related invest with the tourism sector in Caravaca get tax relief, since initiative was endorsed by local political groups in the plenary session for the month of October.

Moreover, the mayor has argued to the Government the desirability of achieving the "1 percent Cultural Program" for the study and appreciation of archaeological sites in the area of Los Molinos.

In the meeting also addressed issues related to public safety in the municipality, including the creation of a National Police station on land donated by the council or the need to continue increasing the number of troops for the Civil Guard barracks Caravaca and Archivel.
