According to the regional government spokeswoman, Maria Pedro Reverte, the Holy Year 2010 in Caravaca de la Cruz will be a major boost for the economy of the Region of Murcia.
This was said this morning at the press conference following the Governing Council held in the city of Caravaca.
"The regional executive has launched a series of measures aimed at developing infrastructure and promoting this event," he reported.
For its part, the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda has been supported by the Governing Council for the construction of an indoor arena in the Public School Basilio Sáez and the general infrastructure project sanitation, stormwater, roads and energy electricity for new developments.
It has also reviewed the projects that were once presented as the president of the Autonomous Community and the different directors for the forthcoming Holy Year 2010.
"We discussed initiatives such as shelters for pilgrims to Almudema and El Llano, of immediate tender, and Multifunctional Cultural Center, also in short time will go to tender," said the mayor.
Caravaca City Council has requested the cooperation of the autonomous government for the Holy Year Promotional Plan 2010.
In this sense, the Mayor will advance to the next Plenary Council the application for issue of a stamp and coin minted with the image of the Holy Year 2010.
