Prepare the city and prepare souls.
The proximity to the start of the Holy Year of Caravaca de la Cruz and the need to have everything ready been suggested and encouraged the organization of a preparatory cycle of conferences which have, and arranged to receive, the actions to be developed in the City Cross from the solemn opening scheduled for the second Sunday of January next year.
The bishop of the diocese of Cartagena, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes, will be responsible for opening the conference schedule with "eyes fixed on Christ Crucified God" in a ceremony to be held next Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the House of Culture "Emilio Sáez" (next to the Temple), from half past eight o'clock.
The series will run throughout the months of October and November and involved, among other speakers, Sister Maria Rosa de la Cierva and Sickles, Secretary of the Ecclesiastical Province of Madrid, Alfredo Dagnino, president of the Foundation San Pablo - CEU, and Miguel Angel Prisons, Vicar General of the Diocese of Cartagena.
Ecclesial communities and groups of faithful of the parishes have welcomed the proposal made by the bishop of the diocese during the presentation of the poster of the Holy Year Cross of Caravaca, which suggested that the groups of pilgrims canst be received into the churches of the city before or after participating in the Jubilee of the parish station in El Salvador and in the acts taking place in the Basilica Shrine of the True Cross.
Plans Lorca spoke of approaching Mary in the parish of La Concepción, delve into the knowledge of San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesus, in the monastery of Our Lady of Mount Caramel; renew baptism, in the parish of San Francisco ; pray before the Blessed Sacrament in the convent of Santa Clara ... also participated in the Eucharist every day to prepare a special way for the pilgrims.
