The Director General of Tourism and the Mayor of Caravaca today inaugurated the new facility
The Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia, accompanied by the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, inaugurated this morning the rural hostel La Almudema built in place of rural schools with a budget of 520,000 euros.
The hostel can accommodate 82 people, is spread over two floors with a ground floor room for groups of 22 persons, 10 rooms on the top floor, kitchen, dining and reception.
The building is adapted to the use of renewable energy by installing solar panels on the roof and meet the requirements for accessibility for people with disabilities.
The works have been funded 75% by the Autonomous Region and 25% by the City of Caravaca.
The rural hostel Almudema pilgrims is specially designed for sports enthusiasts and people connected to nature.
Users can enjoy walking and hiking activities in places like Las Tosquilla Historic Site Cave of the Incarnation and the hamlets caravaqueñas and a route of pilgrimage to the Basilica de la Vera Cruz.
Network building shelters for pilgrims along the adequacy of the Greenway is one of the big bets made by the Autonomous Community and the City of Caravaca to strengthen services and tourist facilities in Caravaca de la Cruz.
The work of the hostel in El Llano, can accommodate more than 200 people have now been completed and is in the process of equipping the building.
Work on the third of the shelters, projected on the old railway station, and are satisfied.
