The members of the only Erasmus FP Dual project in Spain, awarded to the 'Footwear and fashion accessories' cycle, participated today in a working meeting in Caravaca de la Cruz.
In this Erasmus KA3 project, the Community participates, the IES Ginés Pérez Chirinos (Caravaca de la Cruz), the center where the Footwear cycle is taught;
the Italian center of Padua Politécnico Calzaturiero;
the footwear and plastic technology center (CETEC); and the footwear companies association of the Northwest region (Calzia).
The general director of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education, Sergio López Barrancos, inaugurated the working day that took place in the industrial estate of Venta de Cavila de Caravaca.
López said that "these projects are those that favor public-private collaboration that enhance Vocational Training.
As a result of this initiative, the Northwest region will be able to draw on trained professionals trained in the latest techniques that will result in an increase in the competitiveness of our footwear industry. "
The attendees also held a technical meeting and visited some companies in the sector where they saw how the simultaneous training of the students of the cycle between the educational center and the company involved in the dual modality is developing.
The cycle of Vocational Training 'Footwear and fashion accessories' in its dual modality is the only cycle that was granted to a public educational institution in Spain as an Erasmus project, and one of 11 granted in Europe.
The project lasts two years and is co-financed by the European Commission through the European Social Fund (ESF).
