Next October 6 will be held the second edition of the '90K Camino de la Cruz', a sporting event that has been presented at the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga in Murcia and expects to gather about 2,000 athletes (1,500 in the 90K and 500 in the marathon).
The Councilor for Sports in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, María José Soria -who participated in the presentation of the test- wanted to thank the support of the Camino de la Cruz Foundation, giving continuity to the '90K Camino de la Cruz 'beyond the Jubilee Year 2017. He also thanked the involvement of the new' Sports Association 90K ', the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Consortium of the Greenways of the Region of Murcia, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the nine municipalities where this test runs.
"The sum of efforts and wills will allow Caravaca de la Cruz to be once again the goal of a competition that successfully combines the values ​​of sport and tourism in nature, so I encourage athletes to join of the same ", has highlighted Soria.
The act of presenting the 90K has also counted with the participation of the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola;
the president of the '90K Sports Association', Miguel Martínez;
the winners of the first edition, Pedro Morán and Alicia Antón, and representatives of the nine municipalities (Murcia, Alguazas, Molina de Segura, Campos del Río, Albudeite, Mula, Bullas, Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz) through which this test, which will originate in the Cathedral of Murcia and end in the Royal Basilica of the True Cross.
The itinerary coincides with the Greenway of the Northwest and the Camino de Levante.
A total of 90 kilometers, which participants will have to travel in less than 24 hours.
One of the novelties of this year is the advance of the test start time at six in the morning.
In this way, the time with less light will correspond to the first kilometers, when the participants are more grouped.
Likewise, the departure of the marathon from Mula will be delayed at 10:00 a.m. to try to group the arrival of most of the participants at the central hours of the afternoon.
This year the ecological aspect of the event will be maintained, with green points for waste collection being distributed along the route and giving visibility to the solidarity projects of the participants and collaborators of the event.
The inscriptions for the 90K can be made starting tomorrow, May 8, on the website of the test, www.90kcaminodelacruz.es, and also through the website of the Athletics Federation of the Region, www.famu .is.
The price of registration will be 40 (90K) and 30 euros (marathon) for non-federated and 35 (90K) and 25 euros (marathon) for athletes who are federated.
