The Dúo Vergara, from Santiago de Chile -composed by the guitarists Ramón Vergara Leiva and Ramón Vergara S., concertists in classical guitar- offers a concert focused on music inspired by the Altiplano de los Andes, where the charango, an instrument resulting from fusion of two very different cultures, is the protagonist in works like 'El cóndor pasa'.
The concert, organized with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de a Cruz and the Discalced Carmelite Fathers, will take place in the chapel of Santa Teresa of the convent, this Friday, May 18, at 20.15.
The entrance is open access.
"The concert that we will perform with my son consists of compositions that I made inspired by the music of the Northern zone of Chile, what is known as the Altiplano, a beautiful and evocative place where we share territory with the south of Peru, Bolivia and the north of Argentina, as well as more known pieces of the repertoire adapted for charango and guitar ", according to what has been advanced by Maestro Ramón Vergara Leiva.
The Dúo Vergara is integrated by father and son, Ramón Vergara Leiva and Ramón Vergara Silva, originals from Santiago de Chile, with more than thirty years of experience as a group, recording the album 'Homenaje a Iberia' with pieces by Spanish composers and performing many presentations at international festivals and venues throughout much of Latin America and appearances on radio, television and the press.
