The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz reforms the changing rooms and toilets of the municipal sports courts of Juan Carlos I. The first phase of this project has been carried out through a local public employment program, with a total investment of 143,677 euros.
The mayor, José Moreno, who has visited the works with the Councilor for Employment, Antonio Donate, stressed that the different employment programs launched by the City of Caravaca de la Cruz meet a dual purpose, because, "unemployed long-term training and receive a job for a period of time and also materialize works and improvement actions in many degraded public spaces.
The employment program that has been underway for six months on the tracks of Juan Carlos I has allowed the hiring of a bricklayer, a plumber and five pawns of the construction, who have worked in the integral rehabilitation of this municipal space, with a very poor state of conservation, since practically was not acted on it since its construction in the mid-seventies.
The renovation work, which will be resumed shortly and is expected to be completed this summer, consists of the execution of a new roof, installation of metal joinery, laying of pavement and tiling in storage, changing rooms and toilets, as well as the repair of the facade and new installation of electricity and plumbing, among other actions.
One of the priority objectives of this action has been the adaptation of the facilities to people with reduced mobility, with toilets and adapted changing rooms.
The first phase of the project has had a total budget of 143,677 euros, of which 90,000 are from the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the remaining 54,000 are financed by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) and the European Social Fund (FSE).
