The Association of Persons with Intellectual Disability of the Northwest (APCOM) and the Youth Orchestra of the Northwest of Murcia (JONOMUR) have signed a collaboration agreement to carry out entertainment and music training programs adapted to people with intellectual disabilities.
This agreement has been signed by the president of APCOM, Antonio Castillo, and the president of the Youth Orchestra of the Northwest of Murcia, Laura López, in the presence of the councilor of Social Services in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, María José Soria, as well as other representatives of these two non-profit associations of a regional scope.
Through this agreement, Apcom and Jonomur strengthen their links in order to join forces and establish joint performance standards to ensure the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in musical activities, through trials, meetings and concerts of common benefit.
The Association of Families of People with Intellectual Disabilities of the Northwest (APCOM) has as its main goal the social and labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, an objective in which it has been working uninterrupted for 30 years.
For its part, Youth Orchestra of the Northwest of Murcia (JONOMUR) aims to be a link between musical academic context and society, creating 'new audiences' and establishing a fabric of coexistence and collaboration between the cultural and pedagogical associations of the different municipalities that make up the Northwest Region.
In addition, Jonomur has been working with people with physical disabilities seeking integration and normalization as part of their activity.
Through this agreement, they have agreed to collaborate closely in the future to continue promoting the important objectives set by the aforementioned associations in the Northwest Region.
