The renovation of the windows, 180 in total, and 10 doors, was a demand of the educational center, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, since the current ones are obsolete
The Ministry of Education, through the Directorate General of Educational Centers, will invest almost 300,000 euros in the complete replacement of the windows of the IES San Juan de la Cruz de Caravaca.
The center, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, had been demanding the replacement of the windows because the carpentry, of iron, is obsolete, damaged and does not comply with environmental efficiency.
The general directors of Educational Centers and Vocational Training, María Remedios Lajara and Sergio López, respectively, visited IES San Juan de la Cruz this morning to announce the start of the works.
In total, 180 windows, with shutters and safety glass, and the 10 doors of the main building of the center will be replaced, in order to "achieve an adequate thermal insulation which will favor the energy efficiency of the building, will allow to have an important saving of light and will provide greater comfort to the building, "said the general director of Educational Centers.
Lajara has stressed that "these works will benefit 656 students and the entire educational community."
In addition, he highlighted "the commitment of the regional government with the improvement of educational infrastructure, for which we will perform an energy audit of the building of San Juan de la Cruz that will tell us what future actions are necessary, which we will make through funds Europeans. "
For his part, Sergio López has stated that "the regional government of Fernando López Miras complies with its commitments" as is the case of the total renovation of the San Juan de la Cruz enclosures.
The general director recalled that this action is added to other initiatives to improve the quality of education, such as the increase of places in adult education, investments in the IES Chirinos, the implementation of the 'integrated hours' next year, the Law of Gratuity of Textbooks or the subsidy of 159,000 euros to the Conservatory of Music and Dance.
