The Conservatory and the Municipal School of Music and Dance 'Leandro Martínez Romero' of Caravaca de la Cruz close the academic year with four free access concerts and a dance festival, which will take place this week.
The concert of the bands of the School of Music and the Conservatory will take place today, Tuesday, June 12, at 8:00 pm, in the church of San José of the former convent of the Carmelite Mothers.
The Band of the School of Music, composed of about 40 students between the ages of 10 and 12, will perform such well-known compositions as 'Star Wars', 'Harry Potter', 'Game of Thrones', 'Let it be' or 'Hey Jude'.
For its part, the Conservatory Band, which has about 60 students, will star in the second part of the concert with an attractive program composed of works such as 'The New World Symphony' (Dvorak), 'Highlights from Chess' (J. Meij) and 'Slavic March' (Tchaikovsky).
On Wednesday, June 13, at 7:00 pm, the music will return to the church of San José with a concert of chamber music and graduation, which will involve eight groups of varied instrumentation and repertoire.
At the end of this concert, a special mention will be made to the students who have finished the Professional Music Education.
On Thursday, June 14, the activities are transferred to the Thuillier theater with the Dance Festival, in which the participation of a hundred students is expected, which during the last months have prepared a show based on fantasy, rhythm, the color and elegance.
The festival will start at 8.30 pm and access will be made with prior invitation from the Conservatory.
On Thursday, June 14, at 8:00 pm, at the church of Purísima Concepción, it will be the turn of the orchestras of the School of Music and the Conservatory.
The orchestra formed at the Municipal School of Music is composed of about 35 students, who will perform 'Pompa y Circunstancia', by Edward Elgar, 'Sinfonía del Nuevo Mundo', by Dvorak, and the original soundtrack of 'El último mohicano', by Trevor Jones.
The second part of the concert will come from the Conservatory Orchestra, presenting to the audience such compositions as' Finland ', by Jean Sibelius,' Dance Slava ', Anton Dvorak,' English folk song suite ', by Vaughan Williams,' Conga of the new fire ', by Arturo Márquez.
The program of end of course activities will be closed this Thursday, June 14, with the concert that the 'Big band' will offer on the Paseo de la Corredera, starting at 9.30pm.

The Conservatory and the Municipal School of Music and Dance 'Leandro Martínez Romero' of Caravaca de la Cruz have counted this academic year with a total of 756 students from the different municipalities of the Northwest Region and other nearby towns, and with a cloister composed of 32 teachers.
In the last year, they have organized and collaborated in about a hundred cultural activities, including auditions, conferences, festivals and concerts.
This course has been launched several initiatives such as the implementation of the 'Suzuki' method of learning violin from 3 years of age;
the creation of ensembles of modern music ensemble and the implementation of the Chamber Music Department, responsible for coordinating the 17 instrumental groups created in the different courses in Professional Music Education.
