The next 15, 16, 17 and 20 June will be held in Caravaca de la Cruz the International Festival of Short Films and Video Art 'El Festivalico', which in its eighth edition is composed of 87 free screenings, distributed in the documentary sections, fiction, children's, local, international fiction, video art and animation.
'The Festivalico' is organized by the Cultural Association of Art 'El Jardinico', a non-profit organization for the promotion of culture and the arts, which for the development of this event has the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The organization has received this year a total of 1,137 pieces of short films and video art, from many countries, of which 87 have finally been selected for viewing by the public.
The program begins this Friday, June 15, at 21.15, with the section dedicated to the documentary genre and will continue at 10.30 pm, with fiction.
'The Festivalico' is taken up the following day, on Saturday, June 16, at 12.15, with the projections of children's entertainment, which will take place in the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez'.
On Saturday afternoon, from 5:00 pm, it will be the turn of the local 'shorts', with the presentation of five works that have been directed or have had the participation of caravaqueños, including the director of photography Julián Abellán, Francesc Cánovas, Jesús Robles, Álvaro Robles and María José Bugéjar.
The program will continue with the international fiction section starting at 7.30pm.
The day of Sunday, June 17, is dedicated to the pieces of video art, with projections from 12.00, and animation for adults, from 17.30 hours, to finish at 6.30 pm with fiction section international.
The eighth edition of 'El Festivalico' will be closed on Wednesday, June 20, at 20:30, with 'The Shortest Night', which is made to coincide with the summer solstice and will consist of the viewing of twenty short films.
All screenings are free and will take place at the Thuillier theater, except for the children's section that will be held in the auditorium of the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez'.
