The naturalist and writer Joaquín Araujo, twice National Environment Prize, gives this Thursday, June 21, in Caravaca de la Cruz, the conference 'Towards the forest of forests'.
It will be at 20.30 in the church of San José of the former convent of the Carmelite Mothers, with free access until full capacity.
It is an activity organized by the weekly newspaper El Noroeste, on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary, with the 'Tierra Integral' Foundation and the collaboration of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The conference will be presented by the Caravan biologist Herminio Picazo.
On the theme of the conference, Joaquin Araujo advances that "currently, due to climate change, we need many more trees and of course not lose, as we lose, about 20 million a day." The phrase may hide the most ambitious idea of multiplication. A forest is already an immensity of living beings and of interactions A forest of forests supposes to multiply the multiplicity, of which we would be the main beneficiaries, because each standing tree is a point of support for a crippled civilization ".
The work of Joaquín Araujo has been recognized twice with the prestigious National Environment Award, being the only case in our country that receives this recognition twice.
In addition, Araujo has been awarded 36 prizes, awards and scholarships throughout his career as an environmental promoter and defender of Nature, among them
