Addressing the needs of the embroidery sector and improving their working conditions, given the growing lack of professionals because there is no generational change, is the main objective of a motion registered by the Popular Group in the Caravaca City Council, which is based on two addresses.
On the one hand, as explained by the popular spokesman, ask the competent authorities on training and qualification, both regional and state, to design and promote certificates of professionalism or training specials own on the craft of embroidery.
On the other hand, the motion asks to request the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) to carry out workshops aimed at providing training and employment to people in situations of unemployment.
"We have met with the SEF and with an association of horsemen that pursues the enhancement of caravaqueño embroidery and we believe that, after several years since the celebration of the last embroidery workshops, they must recover to avoid the march to other towns to make these jobs ", explained José Francisco García.
"The objective is to provide recognition of the profession to these workers and ensure quality standards for the training that future professionals in this sector must follow to achieve their professional qualification," added the popular spokesman, who has been convinced that this craft "must be transformed into quality jobs".
To this end, it is necessary to promote the identification and creation of a new professional qualification that allows for linked work positions and allows the development of an official professional training within the professional formation of the educational system and in vocational training for employment, through training cycles , certificates of professionalism or training specialties.
"With these measures could be put in value local embroidery, generate quality employment and work both locally to export jobs for the many parties and celebrations in Spain demand this type of craft creating a brand of Caravaca embroidery" , Garcia has finished.
