The first edition of the 'Caravaca Power Pop' is celebrated on Saturday, October 13, with the participation of five outstanding bands from the national pop-rock scene, book presentations and vinyl taps.
The concerts will take place as the Garden City, expanding the rest of cultural activities to the plaza and museum José Carrilero and pub 'La Nota'.
The mayor, José Moreno;
the councilman of Culture and Celebrations, Óscar Martínez, and the promoter of the festival, José Esteban Martínez-Iglesias, have announced all the activities included in this festival, which will be free of charge.
"We are delighted that the cultural offer of the municipality is growing and this time it does with a festival that is here to stay and is framed in the programming of the next Fair of Caravaca de la Cruz," said the mayor during the presentation of the poster, whose design has been made by David López (Gnomodesing).
'Cooper', led by Álex Díez, is one of the groups confirmed for the 'Caravaca' Power Pop '.
The leader of 'Los Flechazos' and during the last 15 years of 'Cooper', is considered the most representative character of the mod movement in Spain.
Their sound, their songs, their image and their voice are part of the history of Spanish pop music in their own right.
'Brighton 64' is another of the musical formations that will be present at the festival in Caravaca.
With a long career on stage, it was created in the early eighties, when two teenage brothers, AlbertyRicky Gil, very influenced by the British mod scene that began to discover through records and films, decided to join forces with several fellow students and began to rehearse versions of 'The Who', 'The Jam', 'The Kinks' and 'Clay Berry'.
The multinational EMI joined the group and published in 1986 the maxi-single 'La casa de la bomba', with a great sales success and a strong impact on the media.
Juan Antonio Ross, accompanied by his cast of experienced musicians, will also be in 'Caravaca Power Pop'.
Ross, with its captivating melodies and persevering rhythms, will propose to the audience a trip to a special place, where the luminosity of pop, the sensuality of the dance and the sentimental value of folk and soul hatch.
The genie from Portland (Maine) settled in Madrid, Kurt Baker will present his latest project, in which he is accompanied by three musicians from Leon with a broad curriculum.
'Kurt Baker Combo' in his new work, 'Let's go Wild!', Opens his palette of influences without any complex: it sounds like glam rock, punk, garage, power pop and even let you see touches of motown sound, psychedelia and Much sound new wave.
'The Runarounds' will present 'Ready fou You', an EP of four songs with which the Murcian band returns to the scene in the best possible way.

As parallel activities, the book 'Mods: The style and aesthetics of the original mods' will be presented, in which Daniel Llabrés and Tete Navarro make a trip to the past with stops in Kingston, on the campus of Yale, in the' Flamingo Club 'and on' Carnaby Street 'as a celebration of cool, to enjoy the most elegant subculture that has wandered around this planet.
The second publication that will be presented within the programming of 'Caravaca Power Pop' is 'Atardecer en Waterloo', by Manuel Recio and Iñaki García.
The authors, after two years of intense research, narrate the definitive history of the 'Kinks', in a journalistic, literary, passionate and well-documented style, with numerous citations and references, in the best tradition of the Anglo-Saxon biographies.
