More than 1,600 places, spread over a total of 18 disciplines, is the offer launched by the Department of Sports of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz within the program of promotion of grassroots sport 'Municipal Sports Schools 2018/19'.
The councilor who heads the area, María José Soria, has advanced that this course is accompanied by some new features such as "the extension of the Modern Dance School to the hamlet of Barranda and the commitment to the diversification of schedules and the expansion of groups in certain schools, based on the participation and experience accumulated in previous years ".
"Last year the schools again beat a new enrollment record, with a total of 1,654 participating students", as reported by the mayor.
On the other hand, the municipal coordinator of Sports, Pedro Antonio Abril, has indicated that another of the novelties is that "students of different schools will compete in the federated area under the unique name of 'Municipal Sports Section of the City of Caravaca', disappearing, practically in its entirety, the associated federated clubs agreements. "
The 'Municipal Sports Schools' cover the following disciplines: Rhythmic Gymnastics, Modern Dance, Triathlon / Duathlon, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Futsal, Athletics, Roller Skating, Orienteering, Handball, Chess and Riding.
The program is completed by the Generic School, which is dedicated to the work of psychomotricity, skills, games and training for future sports, and the School of Nature Activities, with activities on Saturdays and / or Sundays such as camping, sailing, hiking , river descent, orientation, etcetera.
The Department of Sports also continues with the Paradeportiva School, for children with physical disabilities, and the Tennis School of the Rafael Nadal Foundation, aimed at children with intellectual disabilities.
The inscriptions, which can be formalized in person or through online mode at www.sporttia.com, have a price of 31.30 euros per school and semester (see Riding and Paradeportiva).
Tuition includes a 20% discount for large families.
In order to improve the service to the citizen and continuing with the procedure implemented in recent years, the Department of Sports has established specific enrollment days for each of the modalities.
The dates are the following: September 10 (Chess, Nature Activities and Rhythmic Gymnastics), September 11 (Basketball), September 12 (Football and Indoor Soccer), September 13 (Tennis, Skating, Generic and Modern Dance), September 14 (only in the morning, Volleyball), September 17 (open spaces available in all modalities) and September 24 (Triathlon and Athletics).
The beginning of the activities of the 'Municipal Sports Schools' is scheduled for Monday September 17, except Triathlon and Athletics that will start the sports course on October 1.
