On September 14, Caravaca celebrated the celebration of the Exaltation of the True Cross.
The Bishop of Cartagena, Msgr. José Manuel Lorca Planes, presided over the celebration of the Eucharist in which he reminded the caravaqueños of the importance of being custodians of the Lignum Crucis.
He explained to them how God has acted throughout the history of salvation: "God is always there, sometimes it seems that he is hidden, that he has hidden, but he is always and continues to act".
Archbishop Lorca invited those present to ask a question: "What do you want, Lord, from me?", In order to embark on a journey "of devotion, service and dedication".
A life that, according to the Bishop, is possible if three steps are fulfilled: denying oneself, carrying the cross and following the Master.
During the celebration, Msgr. Lorca imposed the golden shield of the Brotherhood of the True Cross to the previous older sister, Elisa Giménez-Girón, who thanked God for the time in front of the Brotherhood for having allowed him to be an instrument to spread the word. message of the cross where our Lord Jesus Christ died ".
At the end of the mass, the procession with the Sacred Relic began around the walled enclosure.
The Bishop carried, under a canopy, the Vera Cruz, accompanied by the Armaos, the company that guards the patron saint of Caravaca every time she leaves her sanctuary, and by the new elder sister, María del Carmen López, and her representative board.
After the procession, Vera Cruz blessed the city and its fields from the four cardinal points.
