The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has been the headquarters of the meeting of the Northwest Transportation Bureau, which has involved the mayor of Caravaca, José Moreno;
Mayor Moratalla, Jesús Amo, the General Director of Transport, Coasts and Ports of the Autonomous Community, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, as well as representatives of the remaining consistories that are part of said sectorial body.
The objective of the meeting was to agree on proposals to be included in the Master Plan for Transport of the Region of Murcia, which aims to promote collective transport in front of the private vehicle and meet the special demands of mobility of the most dispersed populations and rural areas, as is the case of the municipalities of the Northwest.
Said plan will try to adapt public transport to the specific needs of the neighbors and of a determined territory.
The sectoral tables for passenger transport in which the 45 municipalities of the Region are grouped are those of Murcia, Río Mula, Vega Alta and Oriental;
Guadalentín Valley;
Altiplano, Northwest, and Litoral.
The objective is to adapt the design of the future model of public transport concessions to the specific characteristics of each area.
