The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has participated in the last extraordinary assembly of the 'Group of Teresian Cities', held in Madrid, with representatives of the 17 Spanish municipalities that make up the cultural, religious and historical route 'Traces of Teresa'.
The Councilor for Tourism in the Caravaqueño Consistory, Gloria Gómez, reported that during this meeting progress was made in the new strategic plan, which will allow continuing to promote this tourism product nationally and internationally;
"Plan that we hope will be approved definitively next November, coinciding with the International Tourism Fair of the Interior, once it has already been awarded."
The representatives of the 'Teresian Cities' also had a meeting with the general secretary of Foreign Marketing of 'TourEspaña', Ángela Castaño, and with the head of Cultural Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism, Elena Valdez.
In this meeting, it was agreed to carry out a joint action at the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) and other ways of mutual collaboration were considered.
The tourist and cultural route 'Traces of Teresa of Jesus' was created within the framework of the commemoration of the V Centenary of the Birth of Saint Teresa, with a clear vocation for continuity, to project globally the values ​​and the cultural and humanistic heritage linked to Saint Teresa.
It is a free route, without a time limit, that allows multiple options and that adapts to the needs of the tourist and pilgrim.
