The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has hired seven workers for six months through local public employment programs for long-term unemployed.
These programs have consisted of the specialties of 'Embellishment of urban elements' and 'Specific adjustments in museums and municipal buildings', with a global budget of 138,000 euros, co-financed by the Caravaqueño Consistory and the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).
The mayor, José Moreno, accompanied by the general director of the Regional Service of Employment and Training, Severa Gonzalez, and by the councilor for Employment, Antonio Donate, have taken stock of the operation of these programs, while they have publicly thanked the workers the great work developed during these months.
"These projects are an example of collaboration between different administrations and with them the dual purpose of combating long-term unemployment and carrying out multiple improvement actions in streets, gardens, facilities and public buildings of our municipality is fulfilled", as highlighted Mayor.
The Councilor for Employment has detailed that the painting specialty program has worked in more than 25 spaces of the municipality, conditioning facades, planters, railings, benches, lampposts or bins, among other elements of urban furniture.
For its part, the program of specific actions in museums and municipal buildings has carried out renovation work in Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz, in the municipal tracks of Juan Carlos I, the Museum of the Party, in the Society of Jesus, in the place of Tosquillas or in the new dependencies of the Municipal School of Chess, among other places.
The program of local public employment 'Adaptation and embellishment of urban elements' has been subsidized with 38,465 euros by the SEF, amount allocated to the costs of hiring three full-time painters, and 25,299 euros have been municipal contribution to cover the costs of the materials and machinery used during the works.
For the specialty of 'Specific adjustments in museums and municipal buildings', the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has allocated a budget of 22,374 euros for materials and machinery.
The SEF has subsidized this second program with 52,135 euros for the hiring of four full-time construction workers.
