The Ministry of Employment, Universities, Enterprise and the Environment, through the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF), is developing various support programs for 27 unemployed people in Caravaca de la Cruz with special difficulties in accessing the labor market.
Specifically, seven people have benefited from two programs that have allowed the City Council to hire long-term unemployed.
With an endowment of 91,600 euros, three of these seven unemployed who accumulate more than twelve months unemployed have worked for six months as pawns of paint and wallpaper in the adaptation and embellishment of urban furniture of the municipality.
This program has been co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The other four participants have been hired as construction laborers to carry out refurbishment works in museums and municipal buildings such as the Fiesta Museum or in the new premises of the Municipal School of Chess, among others.
Also, a total of 20 unemployed over 45 years of Caravaca de la Cruz are being trained from the month of April in gardening and cleaning with a program of the SEF that, in addition to theoretical training, is providing them a paid work opportunity to prepare the place of the Sources of the Marquis.
The Director General of the SEF, Severa González, visited Caravaca de la Cruz today to discuss with the mayor of the town, José Moreno, employment programs currently underway in the municipality, as well as to address other possible ways of collaboration that serve to boost the local labor market.
