The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through the Department of Sports, published the award of the first subsidies to sports clubs in our municipality.
Last year 2017, the corresponding grants to individual athletes were also awarded and shortly the call will be issued regarding the organization of sporting events.
The PP has waited three years for this call for grants to make "their contributions", launching a proposal to the House without specifying ideas about it.
Now they throw their ideas copied from the town hall of Lorca.
This is his policy of helping the sport.
The PP, from his ignorance, has not valued the cost of rent or use of sports facilities in the aforementioned municipality.
I remind you that among the aid of our City Council to federated athletes, apart from the subsidies they criticize, is the cession of the FREE use of the aforementioned municipal property facilities, to each and every one of the competing sports entities, in a federated, in any sports field.
Over 16 years the "flood" of the PP, as it passed through the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, left many "injured", I will detail some: users of sports facilities that suffer serious deficiencies in old buildings with leaks in pavilions, pavements that are shelled and undone (track athletics), which was not given a solution, not even claimed responsibility to the construction companies.
Other equipment remained unfinished, as is the case of the Archivel pavilion that lacked sports flooring.
Last year 2017, this government team made a significant economic investment to equip it with certified land.
Throughout these three years we have not been able to carry out large investments due to the huge debt inherited from the big hole of around 40 million euros.
During these three years various works and arrangements of the sports facilities of Caravaca and districts have been carried out.
We will continue to improve the facilities to the best of our ability.
On the last call for subsidies and / or aid to clubs / athletes and organizers, the PP only mentioned a club, at least they recognize that it is an association with individual licenses, being able to participate in scholarships for their athletes and also as an event organizing entity, as well as other associations that will use this formula to obtain financing.
Previously, there were no objective criteria or organization and they were given without transparent control.
With this regulation it is intended that clubs are participants and have an objective scale where effort and dedication is recognized.
I insist, the aids are granted in the modalities of team, individual or organization of events.
It is time to delude, to build, to lay the foundations to improve things and to encourage caravaqueños collectives and athletes to work together and, together, achieve the goal we deserve.
Have passed those years of bonanza in which there was much money for "everything", which was distributed with a criterion nothing objective.
Therefore, we must build a structure in which our municipal schools (example for other municipalities) and private clubs are the main driving force of sports practice, as they are the ideal means to build a healthier, more integrated and participatory society.
We try to facilitate the work of the associative fabric by enabling the best conditions for the development of a management that, in most cases, is done in a disinterested way.
These must be the foundations for the local sport to be balanced assessing the importance of its athletes.
We believe that grassroots sport should be the center of public action.
A careful base, with adequate financing and with decent infrastructure.
Simplicity and clarity are not incompatible with efficiency, on the contrary, they are allies of a way of doing that solves problems and guarantees rights and transparency.
Caravaca is a benchmark of sport, which has evidence of great regional impact and must maintain leadership in this field, with the sponsorship of individual athletes, teams and events.
Healthy life is much more important than competition, it is a better, kinder, more propitious and more active way of living.
Therefore, in addition to regulated and competitive sports, we must create the means and infrastructures that invite free and pleasurable sports, regardless of age, sex and physical condition.
