The society for rural development 'Integral' - currently chaired by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, and brings together the municipalities of the regions of the Northwest, Rio Mula, Lorca and Sierra Espuña High Pedanías - has received funding for a total of 29 projects, with a global grant of 903,341 euros, within the 'Leader' program.
The grants belong to the call for grants to private projects of the Rural Development Program (PDR) of the Region of Murcia 2014-2020, which are financed by 63 percent by the European Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing, which co-finances the remaining 27 percent.
The initiatives presented are part of the Participatory Local Development Strategy 'Heritage Landscape: For Sustainable and Intelligent Development'.
The approved projects represent a total investment of 2,127,700 euros and are related to the diversification of micro-enterprises;
the productive improvement of small agri-food industries;
the promotion of tourism activity;
the recovery of rural, natural and landscape heritage and the improvement of services and quality of life in rural areas.
Among the projects that have received funding in Caravaca de la Cruz highlights the Rural Hospice 'La Vera Cruz', which receives a grant of 114,498 euros.
They will also obtain financing: the informative and awareness program on good practices for the fight against climate change and the increase in environmental sustainability of the Association of Farmers and Cattle Ranchers of Caravaca (19,117 euros);
the enhancement of the cave paintings of the Justo shelter of the Society of Historiological and Ethnographic Studies of the Highlands (6,810 euros) and the cleaning and conservation of cavities of the Adenow Sports Association (5,108) euros).
The public presentation of the private project files of the Participatory Local Development Strategy 'Heritage Landscape: For Sustainable and Intelligent Development' took place in the municipality of Albudeite, with the presence of the mayor of Caravaca and president of Integral, José Moreno;
the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Ángel del Amor, and the Mayor Albudeite, Jesús García.
Until December 20, the deadline for the submission of new aid applications corresponding to Integral's Participatory Local Development Strategy 2014-2020 is open.
