The Plenary of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz approved a motion presented by the Municipal Socialist Group to ask the Government of the Region of Murcia to promote and implement a Law on Local Financing, allowing municipalities to provide efficient and quality services and face the improper competences that are forced to assume when dealing with the administration closest to the citizen.

The text -approved with the favorable votes of the councilors of the government team and Izquierda Unida and the abstention of the Popular Party and Citizens- includes, among its points of agreement, that the Autonomous Administration assume the share of responsibility that corresponds to ensure the financial adequacy of the local entities and that the participation of the municipalities of the Region in the income of the regional administration is regulated by law, guaranteeing the distribution of resources in an equitable, objective and fair manner.

To do this, this motion proposes the creation of investment funds, local cooperation and inter-municipal compensation, the latter included during the course of the debate at the initiative of IU.

On the other hand, the Plenary unanimously approved the motion presented by the Municipal Socialist Group on the occasion of November 25, 'International Day Against Gender Violence'.

The agreement calls for the Central Government to continue promoting the State Pact against Gender Violence, which was approved a year ago in the Congress and Senate with a broad consensus of the political groups, and to expedite the legislative procedures necessary to put in motion all the measures contained in it.

In addition to a battery of requests and questions from opposition political groups pending from previous sessions, the Plenary also unanimously approved the temporary disability supplement, through which public employees of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council will receive one hundred percent of the compensations in situation of temporary incapacity, in accordance with the agreement adopted in the General Negotiation Table.
