The hall of the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez' hosted the presentation of the book 'Caravaca before yesterday', consisting of a selection of articles that the official chronicler of the Region of Murcia, José Antonio Melgares, has been publishing in recent years in the weekly 'El Noroeste' and now compiles the editorial 'Gollarín'.
The event, which was enlivened by the sounds of traditional music, featured interventions by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno;
from the editor, Francisco Martín;
of the journalist Ignacio Ramos and of the writer Luis Leante, this last prologue of the work.
'Caravaca before yesterday' is, according to the words of its author, "a detained look at the city, its neighbors, its commercial and industrial activity;
their institutions and customs. "
The mayor stressed that this book "allows us to approach a part of our history and see how Caravaca has evolved through its people".
The publication, illustrated with a wide collection of photographs that are part of the "family album" of the local society, recreates an era that coincides with the equator of the last century, between the late forties and the late sixties.
