The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has received the support of the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla (MCT) to promote the project to supply water to the Industrial Estate of Cavila.

This was one of the issues addressed in the meeting that the mayor, José Moreno, and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Works and Environment, Enrique Fuentes, maintained with the delegate of the Government of the MCT, Francisca Baraza.

In this regard, Councilor Enrique Fuentes has said that "supplying water from the Commonwealth of Taibilla Channels both the polygon and the most populated districts of Caravaca is a measure that the municipal government has been demanding from the beginning of this mandate to the different competent bodies. "

"In this last visit to the Commonwealth we have verified that our proposal has been taken care of by said organization, since there has been an important advance with the drafting of a project for the water supply from the supply depot of the high districts from Lorca to the polygon, "he said.

Fuentes thanked the willingness of the Commonwealth of Channels of Taibilla to collaborate in the execution and part of the financing of the project, while it has advanced that "the next step will be to hold a meeting with the heads of the General Directorate of Water of the Autonomous Community to ask them to participate in the development of this fundamental work for the industrial and population development of the municipality ".

The districts of Caravaca have historically been omitted from the supply plans of the MCT, which has forced the use of well resources.

Something that does not happen with most of the municipalities of the Region of Murcia and 32 municipalities of Alicante and Albacete, which do benefit from the infrastructure of the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla.

On the other hand, the MCT delegate positively assessed during this meeting the increase in savings in water consumption in the municipality of Caravaca, due to the improvements that are taking place in the distribution networks.
