The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, and the Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries of the Autonomous Community, Miguel Ángel del Amor, visited the farm 'Coto Rosellas', in the hamlet of La Encarnación, which has been one of the beneficiaries of the aid for mountain areas of the Rural Development Program (PDR) in the call last year.
Taking advantage of the presentation of the new aid for 2019 destined to areas with natural or mountain limitations, the mayor has indicated the convenience that the peculiarities of mountain agriculture are also taken into account for the distribution of Leader funds.
Likewise, José Moreno has demanded the support of the Autonomous Government to undertake the project that will supply the most populated districts of the municipality and the Cavila polygon with water from the Commonwealth of Canales del Taibilla.
The mayor has also referred to the need to implement new decree of necrophagous birds and the impulse of the 'School of Pastors' with activities that energize and guarantee the future of this profession.
The visit was made coinciding with the publication of the new aid lines of the Rural Development Program for this year, which are financed by 63% with EAFRD funds and 37% by the Autonomous Community.
The new call for areas with natural limitations or mountain areas, which is part of the municipality of Caravaca, reaches a total amount of 4,060,200 euros.
These aids contribute to the objectives set in the Rural Development Program of the Region of Murcia, especially in regard to environment and climate and fight against depopulation in rural areas.
