The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Citizen Security, Traffic and Emergencies, held this Friday, February 1, the Technical Conference 'Jihadist Terrorism, threat, actors, methodologies, self-protection and prospective, which will be addressed by the expert José María Gil Garre (Chema Gil), co-director of the International Security Observatory.
The day, with morning and afternoon sessions, is aimed at members of the security forces and emergency services and already has about 150 people registered, including Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection volunteers of different municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
In addition to being part of the co-direction of the International Security Observatory, the expert in security and terrorism Chema Gil develops his professional activity as coordinator of operations of the Emergency Service of the City of San Javier.
He has a diploma in Security Management and International Studies on Terrorism from the Chair of Unesco and has studied different university specializations, such as Intelligence and Security Services and Islamic Sciences.
Gil is a contributor in national and international media on issues related to terrorism and is the author of the report report 'Our Jihadists', having contacted, interacted on social networks and monitored more than a hundred potential terrorists with links to our country.
His work in recent years has earned him several recognitions such as the Commendation of Santiago for the defense of the victims of terrorism and the defense of the work of the Security Forces and Corps;
the Medal of Merit of Civil Protection with Blue badge for actions in protection of people and their property during the floods that affected the Mar Menor in 2016 or the Medal of Merit of the National Police for the work done in investigations on terrorism.
Recently, at the proposal of the General Police Information Office of the National Police, he has entered the Order of Police Merit with the award of the Police Merit Medal (White badge).
