The head of the regional executive, Fernando López Miras, met today in Caravaca de la Cruz with the elder sister of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Vera Cruz, María del Carmen López, to discuss new measures and actions to be carried out during this year "in order to continue promoting religious tourism and take advantage of the luck we have in the Region with one of the five holy cities of the world."
López Miras recalled that last year 53 actions were carried out aimed at promoting and encouraging Caravaca de la Cruz and Camino de la Cruz, and thanked the work of dissemination that, in this sense, is also carried out by the Camino de la Cruz Foundation.
"We are convinced that part of the future of the Region has to go through Caravaca and to promote religious tourism," said the president, who highlighted that during 2017, on the occasion of the Jubilee Year, "we demonstrated how Caravaca can place the Region in the world map with the arrival of pilgrims from all corners ".
He said that "this is the path we have to follow", since, in his opinion "religious tourism, sacred tourism, which helps us to deseasonalize by attracting visitors during the 12 months of the year, has to help us Region continue to grow. "
