Caravaca joins the celebration of the 'Day of the Fraternity' with the realization of several activities and an institutional act, organized jointly by the Department of Social Services Caravaqueño Consistory and the association 'Unity and Fraternity'.
The mayor who heads the area, María José Soria, together with the representatives said local association, Mari Carmen Giménez and Juan Fernández, have made an appeal for participation, since the objective is to promote among people of all ages, and in a special among young people, the development of a culture of dialogue, commitment to fraternity, peace, solidarity and human rights.
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Association 'Unity and Fraternity' have agreed with representatives of the four political groups that make up the Municipal Corporation a program of activities that includes the call for a Drawing Contest, aimed at children in Early Childhood Education and Primary;
a Short Story Contest for middle school students;
a Round Table, to address fraternity from different spheres of society, and the institutional act.
The round table will be held on Monday, March 18, at 8:00 pm, at the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez', with the title 'Fraternity, social relations and citizen participation'.
The same will be moderated by representatives of Socialist Youth and New Generations and will have the participation of lawyer, diplomat of the European Union and expert in Cooperation and International Policy Fernando López de Rego and researcher, teacher and director of Eticambio (fair trade company Rocío Ortiz Galindo.
The institutional act will take place in the Plenary Hall of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz on Saturday, March 23;
at 12.00.
In the course of the same one will read a manifesto and the delivery of prizes will be made of the two contests summoned on the occasion of the 'Day of the Fraternity'.
The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz approved in plenary its adhesion to the Association 'Cities for the Fraternity' (CxF).
This association, formed last September, is currently made up of five municipalities (Aínsa-Sobrarbe, from Huesca, Don Álvaro, from Badajoz, Caravaca de la Cruz, from Murcia, Utrillas, from Teruel and Platja D'Aro, from Girona ), along with six associations: Humanidad Nueva España, nationwide;
Unity and Fraternity, of Caravaca de la Cruz;
ACLF Aljucer, from Murcia;
Ganbo Iturri, from the Basque Country;
Get up and Go, from Coslada;
and Humanita Nova, of Catalonia;
and more than sixty individual members from Badajoz, Donostia, Girona, Granada, Huesca, Madrid, Murcia, Seville, Teruel and Toledo;
that have decided to create a permanent work space of positive experiences, that are put in a network and multiply, where values ​​such as peace, human rights, social justice and especially, universal brotherhood are manifested.
