With 57 young participants, the Department of Youth of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has launched the twelfth edition of the drug prevention program 'Healthy travel'.
The Councilor for Education and Youth, Ana Luisa Marcos, thanked the involvement of all students of 4th year of Secondary Education who have enrolled in this new edition of the 'Healthy Journey', encouraging them to put into practice the information and recommendations that different professionals will contribute in the talks and workshops planned for the next six months.
The name of the program responds to the way of rewarding students who voluntarily join this program and manage to reach their final phase by fulfilling all the commitments made, since they will participate in a weekend of leisure and conviviality in a youth hostel on the coast and, moreover, enter a lottery to represent Caravaca de la Cruz in one of the European youth meetings attended by the Youth Council.
The program 'Healthy travel' is coordinated by the doctor of the Regional Hospital of the Northwest Sandro Guachi and municipal technicians in the area of ​​Youth, which are responsible for providing sessions in which drug use is prevented and healthy habits are promoted. lifetime.
On the other hand, young people who participate in the program assume the commitment to attend the programmed activities and not to smoke or not to start smoking during the half year of the program, for which they undergo different controls under supervision medical
In the twelve years that the City of Caravaca de la Cruz has been developing this program, more than 650 young people in the 4th year of ESO, from the four secondary schools of the municipality, have been part of it, consolidating as a program of prevention of drug addiction for adolescents in the municipality.
