The Plenary Session of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has approved the modification of the Regulatory Ordinance of the Vehicle Parking Rate in Regulated Areas (ORA), introducing a reduction in rates, schedules and spaces.
As explained during the session by the Councilor for Security, Traffic and Emergencies, Pedro Antonio Muñoz López, among the novelties of the new ordinance is that zone 2 (green) will be in operation from 9.00 to 14.00, suppressing the schedule of late;
zone 1 (blue) delays the afternoon schedule in half an hour, coinciding with the opening of the trade, so that it will become active from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
"The changes introduced update the ordinance to be more effective and in line with the needs of neighbors and trade," he said.
The rates are also subject to a price reduction, passing the first tranche from 20 to 15 cents and the second from 40 to 30 cents, so a reduction is applied in the first two tranches of 25%.
The rest of the strips do not suffer any variation, since what is pursued is to favor the rotation of vehicles.
The price of the bonds is fixed in the same amounts: 23.50 euros for residents;
120 euros for the green zone and 240 euros for the blue one and the annulment is maintained at three euros, with the novelty that freelancers or companies may have more than blue bonus, applying a reduction in the second and third.
Likewise, the new ordinance eliminates streets that were included in the previous one, some of which had not been put into operation, such as Elías los Arcos, Lonja, Pedro Martínez, Rafael Tejeo and Santísimo.
Councilman Pedro Antonio Muñoz added that in this modification have taken into account the events that the previous municipal regulations did not foresee and that involved an expense for the City to have to pay economic amounts to the concessionaire by public occupation, such as days of the assembly of tribunes, the patronal feasts or the Fair of Caravaca.
Also the new municipal regulations leave several holidays, such as Christmas and New Year, and every afternoon and Saturday in August.
The ordinance, which is adapted to the new regional decree, suppresses that people with reduced mobility have to pay for the first three hours in the places reserved for them.
The councilor insisted that citizens should make good use of such parking cards, as they are personal and non-transferable and the cardholder must drive the vehicle or be transferred there, since its fraudulent use will be sanctioned.

The ordinance includes the amendment presented by Izquierda Unida for the exemption of any parking fees for vehicles with 'zero emissions'.
In another order of matters, the Plenary also approved the 2016 General Account, which yields a positive budget result of 3,346,000 euros and a treasury surplus of 3,675,000, and the General Account of 2017, with a positive budget result of 1,323 .000 euros and a cash surplus of 4,186,000 euros.
These points had the favorable vote of PSOE and IU and the abstention of PP and C, s.
The points referring to the ratification of the initial approval of the punctual modification n ° 84 of the PGMO for adapting accesses of the "Las Minas" sector to the provisions of the Caravaca-Lorca highway project and the motion submitted by the Group were approved unanimously. Municipal de Izquierda Unida of support for the Feminist Strike called for next March 8.
Finally, the points referring to the request of appearances of several councilors of the Government Team by the municipal groups of Citizens and the Popular Party were rejected, with the votes against the PSOE and IU.
