The Municipal School of Chess has released a classroom where they develop their weekly sessions, which is located in municipal offices next to the Plaza del Arco.
The Councilor for Sports in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, María José Soria, and monitor Juan Reina explained that in recent months this space has been conditioned to accommodate the thirty students with whom the school currently has.
The Municipal School of Chess was launched four courses ago and in this period of time has become one of the regional schools with greater presence in the different tournaments of the regional circuit.
It has two groups: 'Initiation' (for boys and girls with ages from five years old) and 'Perfection and competition'.
The mayor María José Soria highlighted the work of caravaqueño Juan Reina, who runs this school, to promote chess in Caravaca and encouraged children to start practicing this sport.
The Municipal School of Chess is part of the program of promotion of grassroots sport 'Municipal Sports Schools', made this course 2018/2019 for a total of 16 disciplines, with more than 1,600 enrolled.
