Representatives of the four political groups with municipal representation have signed the commitment for citizen participation, within the measures contemplated in the Strategic Plan (2018-2028) prepared by the Department of Transparency and Citizen Participation of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The mayor, José Moreno, explained that by signing this document the public commitment to work in the next ten years is reflected so that "citizen participation is an instrument that allows complementing municipal policy and management, enriching it and improving it".
For its part, the councilor responsible for the area, Gloría Gómez, listed the main objectives that are included in the Strategic Plan (2018-2028).
"In March 2018 the Regulation for Citizen Participation was approved, a tool that allows us to initiate a strategic plan that is binding and legally valid, since within the Administration it must be a fundamental factor to seek quality in citizen participation," he said. .
Among the short-term objectives (2018-2019) is the signing of this commitment by the political representatives;
carrying out a SWOT analysis that allows us to know what we have, what we want and what the goal is;
the creation of the 'City Council';
the start-up and promotion of the registration of associations;
the updating and improvement of the municipal website and the holding of neighborhood meetings and information assemblies, among others.
In the medium-term objectives (2020-2024), public consultations are introduced on special social relevance issues, as well as the promotion of neighborhood associations with cession of public spaces and subsidies, sectoral councils and participatory budgets.
The Plan also includes a final phase of application in which the long-term objectives for the period 2025-2028 are detailed, with evaluation and measurement of results and design of the second strategy, among other aspects.
