The City of Caravaca de la Cruz reinforces the municipal street cleaning services during the festivities, increasing both the staff and technical means and paying special attention to the selective collection and recycling of waste.
The mayor of Caravaca, José Moreno, and the councilors of the Government team Óscar Martínez, Enrique Fuentes and Jesús Sánchez informed about this special device, as well as about other actions carried out by the Consistory regarding security, promotion, attention to the visitor, lighting or assembly of infrastructures, among other aspects, framed in the celebration of the celebrations in honor of the Santísima and Vera Cruz.
To carry out the special road cleaning plan and public spaces, the concessionary company of this municipal service, Entorno Urbano, will have a team of 40 workers and a reinforcement of machinery.
Since the Department of Public Services and Environment have paid special attention to the recycling of plastic and glass waste, increasing the number of containers on public roads, in the Festero and other venues of groups of parties.
That is why they have made an express call to citizen collaboration so that, both caravaqueños and visitors, join the festero recycling campaign, with the aim of achieving more environmentally sustainable festivals and an image of the cleanest city.
In addition to the increase in the number of containers, the main novelty these holidays to promote recycling is the use of reusable cups in the bars tendered by the City of Caravaca and installed at different points of the public road, next to the main events.
In this way, the consumption of plastic and the waste generated during the events is considerably reduced, in addition to complying in advance with the regulations that will come into force in this matter to favor the environment.
The 40 workers of the municipal cleaning service will be distributed in shifts of morning, afternoon and evening, with a continuous service during the 24 hours of the day.
The machinery will be composed of small size sweepers to access narrow areas and streets of the old town, as well as large sweepers for the main stages of the party.
In addition, builders will be used for hard-to-access spaces, a hydro-cleaner van and a cuba truck.
On the other hand, a total of 100 autonomous portable toilets will be installed, which will change their location according to the needs of each holiday.
Likewise, 80 large-sized containers will be placed in the areas with the highest concentration of people and next to the seats of clubs, cabellas and groups.
In addition, with the collaboration of Ecoembes and Ecovidrio, the number of containers for containers and glass will increase.
