Taking advantage of the announcement of the second call after the renewal of the prizes, the novel by Daniel Cotta winner of the modality of mystical poetry 'San de la Cruz' was presented
The assembly hall of the General Archive of the Region of Murcia hosted the presentation of the 'Albacara' awards in its second call, after the renewal of the bases last year with new awards and participation modalities.
The event was attended by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, accompanied by the Prior of the Discalced Carmelite Order of Caravaca de la Cruz, Pascual Gil Almela, the representative of the group Postres Reina María del Carmen Giménez and editor of Gollarín, Francisco Marín.
During the presentation, in addition to announcing the call for the contest, the edition of the book was informed by the Department of Culture of the Caravaqueño Consistory, in collaboration with Gollarín, 'Dios a la voz voz', the work of the writer Daniel Cotta winner of the National modality of Mystical Poetry 'San Juan de la Cruz'.
The Literary Contest 'Albacara' in its latest edition was made up of the 'Premio Escuela de Mandarines', the 'Ciudad de la Cruz Narrative Award' and the 'San Juan de la Cruz Mystic Poetry Prize', the last two modalities now acquire international character, as long as the works are urinals and written in Castilian.
Last year the Department of Culture - in collaboration with the Discalced Carmelites, the Queen desserts and the Gollarín publishing house - relaunched this contest with 46 years of history and 37 editions held, incorporating two new participation categories, in addition to the traditional youth prizes and children.
In the last edition more than 180 works concurred.
The Award 'Albacara' arose in the city of Caravaca de la Cruz in 1972, under the protection of the figure of San Juan de la Cruz, in order to promote literary creation among adolescents and young people.
Since then, there have been many people who, having premiered in the literary creation in this contest, are credited today as recognized writers and poets in the regional, national and even international.
In this edition of 2019, the 'Albacara' Prize presents again the traditional call for Children and Youth called "Mandarin School Award", in homage to the work of the writer from Caravaca Miguel Espinosa.
Within the bases is also called the II "Narrative Award City of the Cross", on local issues, for over 18 years, in recognition of the writer from Caravaca Gregorio Javier.
And finally, there is the II "San Juan de la Cruz Mystic Poetry Prize", aimed at people over 18 years of any nationality, to honor the figure of the famous mystic patron of Spanish poets for its historical link with the city of Caravaca from the cross.
