The mediation program 'SORME' attended a total of 17 users in the first quarter of the year, for which 95 related services were carried out, both with the public sector and with the private sector.
This municipal program aims to contribute to the full social inclusion of people with hearing disabilities, whether or not they know the sign language.
The communicative mediator attends to the public in the Youth Center from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, from Monday to Friday (mobile contact and whatsapp 644 883 056 / email sorme@caravacadelacruz.es).
Through 'Sorme' not only facilitates access to public services for people with hearing problems -as in the case of administrative procedures, health or education-, but also favors the integration into the private sector, accompanying the user, upon request, to daily related activities, for example, with banking, commerce, meetings of parents or neighbors, and so on.
The 'SorMe' Program is a project promoted by the Department of Social Services of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and managed by the Cultural Association 'Adinor', with the aim of eliminating the main communication barriers that deaf people face.
For this, a communicative mediator helps them to efficiently develop their efforts.
The figure of the communicative mediator supposes a basic support for the deaf, deafblind and hearing impaired people, with which access to resources and services is facilitated, seeking the social integration of this group as full citizens.
