The General Director of Vocational Training and Special Education, Sergio López Barrancos, has attended the final meeting of the project, the only one of its kind that has been granted to a public educational institution in Spain, in which the IES has also participated. The General Director of Vocational Training, Sergio López Barrancos, attended the closing meeting of the Erasmus KA3 APPshoe project in Caravaca after a two-year journey.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Association of Footwear Industries and the Northwest Alpargata of Murcia, Calzia.
The rest of the members of the Project are the Calzaturiero Polytechnic Institute, an educational institution based in the Italian region of Padua;
the IES Ginés Pérez Chirinos de Caravaca;
the Technological Center of the skin and plastic of the Region of Murcia (CETEC);
the Employment and Training Service and, as representative of the educational administration, the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education.
The project has taken advantage of the experience of centers in Italy to implement the research activity of CETEC and adapt it to the educational system in the IES Ginés Pérez Chirinos of Caravaca de la Cruz through the training cycle of footwear and fashion accessories and training activities for employment managed by the Employment and Training Service (SEF).

Appshoe is based on a combination of automated technological tools that include digitized design, optimized cutting and stamping systems, efficient drying ovens, centering technology and programmed heel molding, among others.
In these two years, a work has been carried out to develop contents of industrial operations with a transfer to Augmented Virtual Reality as teaching material.
The general director of FP, during the meeting, stressed the importance for the General Directorate of the internationalization of educational centers and the introduction of new technologies to vocational education.
Sergio López said that "from FP we have been supporting and promoting Dual FP as the students of the cycle of footwear and fashion accessories related to the ERASMUS project carried out in companies in the sector and in this area"
