The commercial zone, in which 16 companies will show and sell their creations, will be located in the old church of the Compañía de Jesús
Professionals from the sector, journalists from specialized media, fashion experts and the general public will participate in the Caravaca de la Cruz International Festival of Jute Arts, which will be held from June 6 to 10, with an intense program of activities of a formative, commercial and recreational nature.
The event is reinforced this year with the first international meeting of the footwear industry of the Region of Murcia, called 'Youte meetting B2B', which will feature companies from the markets of South Korea, Qatar, Dubai, United Kingdom, Colombia , Peru and South African Republic, among others.
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, and the Minister of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, Javier Celdrán, acting, accompanied the president and the director of the Association of businessmen 'Calzia', Juan Romero and Salvador Gómez, respectively, in the presentation of the poster and the program of the third edition of the Jute Arts Festival, an initiative promoted by the aforementioned association, with the support of the Caravaqueño City Council, the Promotion Institute of the Region of Murcia and the Fondo European Regional Development.
The professional days on sustainability, centered on the axes of market, product and people, will mark the beginning of the festival.
On Thursday, June 6, will be presented by Luis Lara, consultant of KPMG specialized in fashion and one of the most important gurus of the fashion industry in Spain;
Sylvia Calvo, co-founder of the Sustainable Fashion Association of Barcelona;
and Esperanza Navarro, director of human resources and Corporate Social Responsibility of Gioseppo, one of the leading brands of Spanish footwear.
The event also has a series of activities for all audiences, which this year are reinforced by the free concerts of the music festival 'Vaca Pop'.
Following the pattern of its previous editions, there will be a commercial area, which this year will be located in the old church of the Company of Jesus.
In this municipal space, a total of 16 footwear manufacturers will show their creations in 'pop up store' or ephemeral stores.
The schedule of the commercial zone will be Friday, June 7, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm;
Saturday, June 8, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 10 pm;
Sunday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The ephemeral stores will also remain open to the public on Monday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
The footwear sector in the Region of Murcia has 198 companies generating employment, 163 for the manufacture of shoes, shoes, sports and sandals;
and 35 dedicated to producing components such as leather, soles, instep, insoles, heels and wedges.
Murcian companies represent four percent of the total sector in Spain.
