With the slogan 'The value of being authentic', Caravaca de la Cruz hosted the 'Day of the ONCE', with the participation of more than 400 people, including associates, workers, volunteers and relatives of the different municipalities of the Region.
The objective of this activity is to enjoy a day of coexistence with different recreational activities and to value the work developed by the foundation to contribute to the full autonomy of people with any type of visual or auditory disability.
On behalf of the different public administrations, the event was attended by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno;
the government delegate, Francisco Giménez, and the Health Minister, José Manuel Villegas, who accompanied the vice president of the ONCE General Council, Imelda Fernández, and the president of the Territorial Council, Teresa Lajarín, as well as all the associates They moved to Salones Castillo de la Cruz.
On the 'Day of the ONCE' was also represented a special group of members, which is the people affiliated with deafblindness.
From ONCE called for the involvement of administrations and society as a whole so that people with visual disabilities enjoy their rights, especially ensuring universal accessibility and equal opportunities.
Likewise, the organization emphasizes the need to eradicate illegal and non-responsible gambling.
The group of socially responsible companies of the ONCE and its foundation make day by day the provision of specialized quality services to the 2,6000 people with visual disabilities in the Region of Murcia, also providing a decent job to more than 1,000 workers .
Likewise, it lends its support to other entities of the associative movement of persons with disabilities and their families.
The main mission of the ONCE is the improvement of the quality of life of blind people or severe visual impairment through the provision of a wide range of social services that allows full social inclusion.
Education, employment, rehabilitation, accessible technology and tiflotechnology, leisure, culture, sports, communication and a thousand realities available to everyone with specialized and specific attention by an entity with more than 80 years of experience.
