The rehabilitation of the historic building that houses the House-Museum of the Horses of the Wine will be completed with the project of adaptation of the third floor and the winery.
The Caravaqueño Consistory has received 105,000 euros of subsidy, from the European funds 'Leader', to allocate these spaces to embroidery workshops, multipurpose room and mantle store.
The mayor, José Moreno, has visited, along with the Councilor for Tourism, Gloria Gómez, the place where the works will be carried out with a deadline of seven months.
As part of the 'Leader' program, the adaptation and signaling projects for the San Juan de la Cruz Way, with a subsidy of 16,497 euros, and the smart pedestrian tourism signage project in the historic center of Caravaca de la Cruz, financed with 62,472 euros.
"The main objective of this new project to adapt the Casa Museo de los Caballos del Vino is to have a space for the development of embroidery training workshops, since it is fundamental to take care of and preserve this activity that enriches our celebration and, in addition, , is a source of job creation, "said José Moreno.
The actions to be developed in the Casa Museo de los Caballos del Vino will focus on the ground floor and the basement.
The building consists of two floors (ground floor and first floor), as well as an underground chamber for storage, which still conserves jars for the fermentation and conservation of the wine embedded in the soil;
and a plant under cover, denominated "false", very common in the building typology of the zone.
Regarding the actions reflected in the project, the basement will be adapted as a complementary space to the musealization, recovering and valuing the winery.
The plant under cover, of 265 square meters, will structurally reinforce the existing forged of wood and revoltón and will be placed pavement, with finishes and electrical installation and lighting.
