Caravaca de la Cruz will host different courses to update knowledge and improve the training of both the unemployed and active professionals in the agricultural, food and forestry sectors.
The new training plan presented by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Autonomous Community has begun at the facilities of the Caravaca Youth Center with the course of 'Manipulator of fruit and vegetables', which twenty students attend.
The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, along with the councilors of the government team José Carlos Gómez and Laura Sánchez, accompanied the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries acting, Miguel Ángel del Amor, in his visit to the Centro Joven Caravaca, where he announced the program of training actions framed in the Rural Development Program of the Region of Murcia 2014-2020, financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (Feader), the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Autonomous Community.
The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has granted agricultural professional organizations (ADEA-Asaja, COAG-IR and UPA) and federations of agricultural cooperatives (Fecamur and Fecoam) a total of 533,844 euros in aid for actions of training and acquisition of knowledge in the agricultural, food and forestry sector.
Throughout the Region, 262 free training activities will be developed, with 4,939 places offered.
In Caravaca de la Cruz the first scheduled course is about 'Manipulator of fruit and vegetables' and is taught through the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia (FECOAM).
Its priority objective is the application of good hygiene practices.
These courses are necessary for workers to stay updated.
To this end, 31 types of different training actions will be taught, among which stand out, as they are most in demand, those of professional user of plant protection products (basic and qualified levels), safe handling of forklifts and tractor, first aid, emergency plans and evacuation, food handler, artificial insemination and animal welfare in swine, business management, pruning and grafting of almond and fruit trees, management and maintenance of localized irrigation facilities, biocide manipulator in livestock facilities and organic farming (basic level), among others.
