The mayor and the vice president of the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia have welcomed this activity held in the Thuillier with the motto 'A look from the heart'
Twelve associations belonging to the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia, which have been joined by others from the field of disability as APCOM, have met in Caravaca de la Cruz to participate in the 'Festivarte', which promotes the Asociación Afemnor del Noroeste, with the collaboration of the City of Caravaca.
The mayor, José Francisco García, and the vice president of the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia, Pilar Morales, have welcomed the nearly 400 people who have been part of the fourth edition of this artistic and inclusive festival.
In this sense, the mayor has indicated that "the Thuillier theater is today an example of integration, since it is the setting chosen by the different associations related to mental health and the field of disability to make visible the great social and therapeutic work that they carry out with your users. "
In the words of José Francisco García during the opening ceremony, "through dance, theater and music, it is clear how art in all its disciplines is capable of exciting all of us regardless of our abilities and, moreover, it is a vehicle facilitates social integration, autonomy and freedom of people.The art is therapeutic and even more if it comes from the heart as it happens today in Caravaca.To all the associations that you meet in our city, my thanks for the silent work but fundamental that you realize day to day ".
The vice president of the Federation of Mental Health has stressed that "the 'Festivarte' has become a showcase that allows the expression of the heterogeneity of the human being.The appointment generates a space of high utility as far as the culmination of the associative work, to the time that creativity and the encounter of hidden abilities are promoted ".
For its part, the representative of the Association Afemnor, Mari Cruz Torralba, recalled that the 'Festivarte' is a national awareness campaign.
It is a novel and unique event, an annual project that was born with the intention of spreading the reality of Mental Health in the Region of Murcia in the first person ".
In the 'Festivarte' dozens of artists from non-profit organizations that work in the sector of disability and vulnerable groups are on the scene.
A day of culture and coexistence between people with and without disabilities through different artistic disciplines: dance, theater, music, crafts, body language, dance, puppets, movies, etcetera.
The success of the first season consolidates the campaign and makes it a permanent appointment in the calendar of all associations of Mental Health in Murcia as well as others in the world of disability.
