A score of young people live a volunteer experience in the center of day and residence for people with intellectual disabilities and great needs for support 'El Copo', within the initiative 'Field of Experiences: We listen to your eyes', which for the third year promotes the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz together with the Association of Families of People with Intellectual Disabilities of the Northwest (APCOM).
The mayor, José Francisco García, and the councilor for Youth, Laura Sánchez, along with APCOM management personnel, have visited this activity that has among its objectives to make visible the needs of people with physical and / or intellectual disability and work everyday that the professionals of this reference center in the Region perform with their users, through workshops and therapies such as 'Relaxation', 'Aromatherapy', 'Stimulation', 'Multisensory therapy', 'Social skills', 'Theater' and 'Cognitive stimulation', among others.
The initiative is a very positive activity for young volunteers, and in addition to opening future professional horizons, promotes social integration and positive values ​​for personal development, dismantling myths and false beliefs about the field of disability.
