The plan consists of a first phase, which affects the main arteries of the city, and a second one that will be executed in crossings of the urban area and districts by the General Directorate of Roads

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Public Safety and Traffic, has launched a special crash plan to improve horizontal signage on streets and crossings of the municipality.
The plan contemplates the renovation of the painting in zebra crossings, cebreados and parking spaces, both in urban areas and in districts.
The councilor who directs the area, José Santiago Villa, has informed that this plan is added to the work carried out weeks passed by the municipal brigade and that it aims to "solve the problem existing in streets with paint, in many cases almost disappeared by the passage of time and lack of maintenance. "
This, he added, "has caused justified neighborhood complaints, as well as warnings by the General Directorate of Traffic, due to the risk to road safety that it entailed for both pedestrians and drivers, so it is a priority of the local government to improve imminently this aspect. "
The first phase of the plan, executed with a municipal budget, is being carried out throughout this week in Gran Vía, Avenida de la Constitución, Miguel Espinosa, Doctor Robles, Diego Cortés, Avenida Juan Carlos I, Avenida de Almería and Argentinian republic.
"One of the novelties, which will surely attract the attention of the citizen, will be the pedestrian crossings regulated by traffic lights on the Gran Vía, which are now adapted to the recommendations of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), changing its usual format for issues of sustainable mobility, and will be accompanied by quotes from caravaqueños literary authors, "said Villa.
"On the one hand it is a nod to culture and writers have contributed a lot to our municipality and on the other, the DGT criteria already implemented in many cities are met."
The special plan for the renewal of the horizontal signage will consist of a second phase, in this case executed by the General Directorate of Roads, and will include the renovation of the painting of crossings of the districts and the urban area, such as Carretera de Murcia, Maruja Garrido, Corredera, Avenida de los Andenes Gregorio Sánchez Romero and Carretera Moratalla.
In this regard, the Councilor for Citizen Security and Traffic has thanked the Autonomous Community for its commitment to undertake and finance the second phase of the plan, which is also in the execution phase.
"All the work planned within this necessary shock plan will subsequently be accompanied by the work of the municipal maintenance brigade, which will work periodically on this to not reach the situation that has been reached now," said José Santiago Villa .
