The City Council of Caravaca includes proposals for all audiences, with special attention to children and family tourism
Workshops and guided children's tours, routes through the historic center, live music and open doors in museums are some of the activities with which Caravaca de la Cruz commemorates the 'World Tourism Day'.
"We will have an offer that will present the museum network and numerous cultural and heritage resources that are not usually shown on conventional guided routes. The activities will be held during September 27, 28 and 29, all of them free of charge and aimed at all audiences, paying special attention to children and family tourism, "said the Councilor for Tourism, José Carlos Gómez.
The head of the Tourism area at the Caravaqueño Consistory has been accompanied by the mayor of Education, Pepe Tudela, since part of the school community will participate in this 'World Tourism Day', through the project 'Meet and have fun', with which will show in a fun and entertaining way the local history and the meaning of the Vera Cruz festivities.
The presentation was also attended by the technician responsible for the area of ​​Tourism, Mari Carmen Robles, and the director of museums, Indalecio Pozo, who have offered some details of the activities offered to the public and that are aimed at both visitors and also to the caravaqueños themselves for their novelty.
The 'World Tourism Day' will begin on Friday, September 27, with the project 'Meet and have fun', which will be developed in all museums, with the involvement of fifth grade students.
The second activity will also be aimed at schoolchildren with the visit to the Archaeological Museum the 'La Soledad and the workshop' From stone to metals'.
The activities scheduled for Friday 27 will continue with a special tour of the Castle of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Vera Cruz Museum, aimed at the adult public, which will show spaces that are not usually visited.
This will take place at 7 pm and to participate it is necessary to make a reservation.
The day will culminate, at 8:00 p.m., in the Fiesta Museum, with a practical activity on the harnessing of the Wine Horses, which will be enlivened by the live music of the Big Band of the Conservatory 'Leandro Martínez Romero'.
The celebrations of the 'World Tourism Day' will be extended during the day of Saturday September 28 with the route 'The name of the streets and things' (10.30 hours, prior reservation), which will run through the streets of the historic center and houses more emblematic, where personalities, artists and writers lived.
The morning will close with the children's visit 'Festera Experience of the Wine Horses' in the House-Museum of the Wine Horses (12.00 hours, prior reservation).
In the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., a mock race of the Horse of the Wine will take place on the Cuesta del Castillo with a stopwatch.
Other activities for the afternoon of Saturday, September 28, are the children's visit to the Museum of the Party 'Live and feel the medieval culture' (5.30 pm, prior reservation) and the free visit for all audiences to the Vera Cruz Museum (18.00 hours, prior reservation) and the concert-tribute to Rocío Jurado in La Corredera (21.00 hours).
The activities of the 'World Tourism Day' will close on Sunday, September 29, with the workshop for children 'Creating a sculpture' at the José Carrilero Museum (12.00, upon reservation).
In addition, during September 27, 28 and 29 there will be open doors throughout the museum network.
