The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz held yesterday, Sunday 22, the first neighborhood consultation that is convened in the municipality in order to elect the Archivel peddler, the district where more than one candidate has participated in the process of democratic election of mayors pedáneos.
As the scrutiny record was reflected, a total of 286 neighbors participated.
The candidate presented by the Government team, Francisco Javier López López, obtained 160 votes and the independent candidate Francisca Contreras Martínez 118. Eight blank votes were registered and none were void.
The mayor, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, valued the work developed by the municipal technicians of the departments of Citizen Participation and Statistics, who have directed this process "with total neatness and professionalism".
José Francisco García congratulated the new pedneo and had words of thanks for the two candidates, "for making possible a pioneering consultation in our municipality, with which a turning point is marked and the foundations of citizen consultations are laid".
"In politics, words have to be accompanied by facts. And that the neighbors could choose their pediatrician was a public commitment approved in plenary long ago. A real and fair step in citizen participation, open to all parties, to neighbors and all the districts, "he said.
On Friday, October 4, at 8:30 p.m., we will proceed to the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall to the presentation of the people who during this term will represent the 14 districts of the municipality.
The process to carry out this consultation began at the beginning of August, publicized in time and form by all channels within the reach of this town hall, through the issuance of a City Council and its publication on the bulletin board, municipal website, Media and social networks.
It was also the will of the Government team to put on the table and discuss the procedure to be followed in the first ordinary Plenary, with the favorable vote of the entire Corporation.
Once the consultation was called and the advisory table was set up, the mayor addressed all the censored neighbors by letter.
The Archivel has been the only district where more than one candidate has attended.

Government Team), José Marín Salcedo (Singla Government Team), Luis Pérez Castillo (El Moralejo. Government Team) and María Trinidad Pérez Romera (Los Royos. Government Team).
