Until October 15, the deadline for applying for the scholarships granted by the 'Alfami' Foundation, aimed at students of Primary, Secondary, Vocational Training and Special Regime Education of Caravaca de la Cruz, remains open.
For the 2019/2020 academic year the foundation allocates a total of 25,000 euros to these study aids, whose recipients are proposed by the directors of the educational centers or at their own request, presenting the application form and the required documentation in the General Register of the City Council .
The amounts that can be chosen are 90 euros for elementary school students;
200 for post-compulsory education and 700 for university studies.
'Alfami' will grant scholarships until the available credit is exhausted in this call, preferably being awarded to the best academic records.
The board of trustees of the foundation also values other aspects, such as the fact that the student belongs to a large or single-parent family, that the parents are unemployed or that one of the family members has a disability.
To be a beneficiary of the scholarships, it will be necessary to meet the requirements of an academic and economic nature established in the rules of the call, where it is indicated, among other aspects, that the student must be at least 10 years old and be registered in the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The 'Alfami' foundation faithfully fulfills the will of Alfonso López Álvarez, whose will was to create a charitable foundation aimed at supporting students without resources.
Since 1988/1989, annual study grants have been granted and to date, nearly 2,000 financial grants have been granted, for a total amount exceeding 650,000 euros.
