The events of the 'World Tourism Day' have begun with the school program 'Meet and have fun'
Within the 'World Tourism Day', Caravaca de la Cruz promotes through a full range of activities the museum offer and the tourist, cultural and heritage resources available to the municipality.
Throughout the weekend, museums hold open doors with free access and also host workshops and guided tours.
The program of activities promoted by the Department of Tourism of the Consistory Caravaqueño has begun with the new educational program 'Meet and have fun', in which more than 250 students in fifth grade have participated and which aims to show in a pleasant way, Participatory and fun history, culture and traditions of the town.
The Councilor for Tourism, José Carlos Gómez, explained during the opening of the activities of the 'World Tourism Day', that "the intention of the City Council is to energize the museums and bring them both to the caravaqueños themselves and to the people who visit us" .
In this sense, he pointed out that "we want this 'World Tourism Day' to be a turning point and that, from now on, museum spaces are something alive and a source of knowledge for children and adults."
"Our intention is that these school visits - in which students actively participate in workshops and other surprises along the way - are not timely or exceptional, but that they are developed throughout the course, offering them to all educational centers of Caravaca and other municipalities, "said the councilor in charge of directing the Department of Tourism.
Many free activities will take place over the weekend.
More than 300 people have completed their previous registration in the activities in which a reservation was required as it has a limited capacity.
In addition to school visits, a special tour of the Castle of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Vera Cruz Museum will be held for the public, where spaces that are not usually visited will be shown.
Another proposal that the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Wine Horses Band, has offered to the public is practical activity on the harnessing of the Wine Horses, enlivened by the Big Band of the Conservatory 'Leandro Martínez Romero'.
The celebrations of the 'World Tourism Day' will be extended during the day of Saturday September 28 with the route 'The name of the streets and things' (10.30 hours, prior reservation), which will run through the streets of the historic center and houses more emblematic, where personalities, artists and writers lived.
The morning will close with the children's visit 'Festera Experience of the Wine Horses' in the House-Museum of the Wine Horses (12.00 hours, prior reservation).
In the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., a mock race of the Horse of the Wine will take place on the Cuesta del Castillo with a stopwatch.
Other activities for the afternoon of Saturday, September 28, are the children's visit to the Museum of the Party 'Live and feel the medieval culture' (5.30 pm, prior reservation) and the free visit for all audiences to the Vera Cruz Museum (18.00, prior reservation) -
The 'World Tourism Day' will close on Sunday, September 29, with the workshop for children 'Creating a sculpture' in the José Carrilero Museum (12.00, upon reservation).
In addition, during September 27, 28 and 29 there will be open doors throughout the museum network.
