The Plenary Hall of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz hosts this Friday, October 4, the act of official appointment and presentation of the 13 pediatric mayors of the municipality for the next four years, an act that is celebrated for the first time in history local democracy and with which one wants to "dignify the figure of the pedáneos, make them known to society, recognize their work and also highlight the importance of districts in the structure of the municipality," as explained by the mayor, José Francisco García .
With the act, which will begin at 8:30 p.m. and in which the Municipal Corporation will be present, the first process of democratic election of the pedáneos held in Caravaca will culminate.
The mayor has valued the work developed by the municipal technicians of the departments of Citizen Participation and Statistics, who have directed this process "with total neatness and professionalism".
"Now, to close this process, we want to celebrate a pioneering event in Caravaca, giving the pedáneos institutional recognition at the headquarters of all caravaqueños," added Garcia, who has invited all the neighbors who wish to attend, so as to associations, companies, cooperatives and organizations especially linked to the rural environment.
The act will involve Antonio Aznar, retired teacher, who was deputy mayor of Pedanías in the first legislature of Mayor Pedro García-Esteller, at the beginning of democracy.
Aznar, a native of Barranda, a town to which he has been closely linked throughout his life, was also a regional deputy and Minister of Education, and in the performance of all these responsibilities, the improvement of the infrastructure of the districts and the quality of life of its neighbors.
